SplitAbility POS can operate in either secure (https) or non-encrypted (http) mode.
Direct printing in non-encrypted mode is safe as the printers are local.

Other options:
Printers can operate in secure mode but require installed certificates to do so.
However you can also print from a secure connection without installed certificates by setting browser flags.
Browser flags allow you to configure advanced features in your local browser.

By default Firefox prints to intelligent and WebPRNT printers in non-secure mode.
Setting the below browser flag allows printing from a secure connection without installed certificates.

FireFox:
  • To access the flags "about:config"
  • Search "security.mixed_content.block_active_content"
  • Toggle to false

Security mixed content block active content (set to false)

Browsers based on the Chromium code base (Chrome, Edge, Opera etc).
